Alicia del Aguila

I am an interdisciplinary artist originally from Peru, based in South Florida. For years I was a Dreamer and my experience as an immigrant shaped my exploration of memory, sense of belonging and the continuous search for hOme through my art.

In my drawings, paintings and collages, I explore the relationships between land, identity and human connection. I have spent years working in nature, and as a farmer and educator working in my community, I found that community building became an integral part of who I am.

As a creative director and educator at various farms, I bring in art to cultivate presence, curiosity and meaningful relationships with the world. I believe creative expression is a form of healing and that making art, growing food and caring for the land are interconnected acts of imagination and care.

My work invites you to slow down, observe and reconnect with yourself, each other and the Universe.
